1. Prime Minister Launched Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana at Ranchi. The Scheme will secure the lives of 5 Crore Small and Marginal Farmers by providing a minimum pension of Rs 3000 per month, to those who attain 60 years of age.

2. ECGC launches ‘Nirvik’ scheme to enhance loan availability of exporters

and MSMEs

Export Guarantee Corporation of India (ECGC) has launched a new scheme called ‘Nirvik’ under which up to 90% of the principal and interest will be covered under insurance. Both pre and post shipment credit will also be covered under the new scheme.

3. Govt launches ‘UMMID’ initiative for new-born babies

Science and Technology and Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan launched ‘Unique Methods of Management and treatment of Inherited Disorders (UMMID)’ initiative to tackle inherited genetic diseases of new-born babies. He also inaugurated National Inherited Diseases Administration (NIDAN) Kendras.

4. Delhi CM launches ‘Champions campaign’ against dengue

Delhi CM launched ‘Champions campaign’ in the fight against dengue & urged people to encourage their friends to inspect their homes to clean stagnant water. The drive will ensure the citizens are encouraged to take responsibility for their fellow citizens.

1. PMJAY to offer teleconsultation to boost scheme coverage

The Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) health insurance scheme is set to offer teleconsultation services to its patients. It is due to the centre’s plans to widen the coverage of the scheme and thus reduce health expenditures.

Ayushman Bharat will offer teleconsultation by 2022.

2. Assam launched Abhinandan Scheme for education loan subsidy

Assam launched Abhinandan scheme to give Rs. 50,000 as subsidy to people and students who have taken out education loans previously and or will choose to take it in the years to come. This has been done to encourage students to pursue higher education.


3. Kerala CM launches capacity development programme for women entrepreneurs

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan launched the Kerala edition of WING-Women Rise Together, an initiative by Startup India, DPIIT for capacity development of women entrepreneurs in the country at the second edition of Huddle Kerala 2019.

4. Trade apprentices to get minimum monthly stipend ranging from Rs 5000-9000

Government has issued a notification regarding minimum stipend payable to trade apprentices. Addressing State Ministers’ Conference on Skill Development in New Delhi, Mahendra Nath Pandey said that minimum stipend will range from 5000- 9000.

1. Dinesh Mongia announces retirement from all forms of cricket

Former India all-rounder Dinesh Mongia announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. He is best known for being chosen over VVS Laxman in the team that finished runner-up in ICC World Cup 2003 in South Africa. He made his U-19 debut for Punjab (1995).

2. Mithali Raj announces retirement from T20 Int’nl cricket

ODI captain Mithali Raj announced her retirement from T20 Internationals intending to focus on her ODI career, keeping in mind the 2021 World Cup. Her T20 career has 2,364 runs from 89 matches at an avg of 37.5, highest score of 97 not out.
