Veteran cricketer Madhav Apte died after suffering a cardiac arrest at the age of
- He was the first Indian opener to aggregate over 400 runs in a Test series. His highest first-class score was 165 not out.

Veteran Kerala actor Sathar passed away at the age of 67. He has acted in more than 300 films including Tamil and Telugu films. He made his debut in the Malayalam movie Bharyaye Aavashyamundu directed by M. Krishnan Nair in 1975.

Veteran Hindi & Marathi film-theatre actor Viju Khote passed away on due to multiple organ failure. He was 77. The actor was most famous for playing the dacoit Kalia in Sholay & Robert in Andaz Apna.
5. Kirti Chakra awardee Commander Noel Kelman passed away
Naval war hero and Kirti Chakra awardee, Commander Noel Kelman, passed away at the age of 92 in Porvorim . He was awarded the Kirti Chakra for valour during the liberation of Goa in 1961. He was involved in an operation to flush out the Portuguese from the Anjadip Island.
6. Noted author Rizia Rahman dies at 80
The Ekushey Padak-winning novelist Rizia Rahman passed away at the age of 80. She received the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1978. Born in Kolkata’s Bhabanipur in 1939, Rizia migrated to then East Bengal after the Partition with her family.
7. DD news anchor Neelum Sharma passes away
News anchor Neelum Sharma, who was associated with India’s public service broadcaster Doordarshan News for over 20 years passed away. She was honoured with Nari Shakti Puraskar by President Ram Nath Kovind earlier this year.
8. Sahitya Akademi Award winner NS Tasneem passes away at 91
Eminent Punjabi writer and Sahitya Akademi winner Professor Niranjan Singh Tasneem passed away. He was 91. He was awarded Punjab’s highest literary honor – Punjabi Sahit Rattan – in 2015. He was awarded Sahitya Akademi award for his novel ‘Gawache Arth’ (The Lost Meaning) in 1999.
9. Veteran director J Om Prakash dies at 93
Veteran director and actor Hrithik Roshan’s grandfather, J Om Prakash, passed away on Wednesday. He was 93. His last film as director was 2001’s “Afsana Dilwalon Ka”, starring Rahul Roy in the lead.
10. Silver Jews’ David Berman passes away at 52
David Berman, the singer-songwriter best known for leading the long-running, critically acclaimed indie band Silver Jews, passed away at the age of 52. He formed Silver Jews in 1989 with Stephen Malkmus and another future Pavement member, Bob Nastanovich.
