3. Prof Muhammad Yunus conferred ‘Lamp of Peace of Saint Francis ‘ award

Nobel Laureate from Bangladesh Professor Muhammad Yunus was conferred the ‘Lamp of Peace of Saint Francis ‘ award by the Vatican for his contribution towards establishing peace & harmony at the historical Papal Basilica of Assisi in Italy.

4. Raghu Rai chosen as first recipient of newly instated international photography award

Renowned Indian photographer Raghu Rai has been chosen as the first recipient of the inaugural edition of the Acadmie des beaux-arts Photography Award – William Klein. The prize is intended to reward a photographer for their entire career and commitment to photography.

5. CIAL bags global award for passenger satisfaction

Cochin International Airport has been selected as the best airport in terms of services offered to passengers, based on a survey conducted by Airport Council International. Airport Service Quality (ASQ)survey is the world-renowned airport service quality benchmarking programme.

6. Vice President conferred the National tourism awards

On the occasion of world tourism day, Venkaiah Naidu conferred the National tourism awards. Andhra Pradesh bagged the Best State award for overall growth in tourism category. Goa and Madhya Pradesh were joint winners in Adventure Tourism category.

7. Rajasthan awarded for water use practices

Rajasthan awarded for water conservation and efficient use practices by the National Water Mission of the Government of India under Category 2-Promotion of citizen and state action for water conservation, augmentation and preservation-of awards.
