Bajrang Punia defeated Mongolia’s Tulga Ochir in the bronze medal match of 65kg freestyle category at Wrestling World Championships in Nur-Sultan. Ravi Kumar Dahiya defeated Reza Atrinagharchi of Iran to win a bronze medal in the 57kg freestyle.

8. Yashaswini Deswal wins gold at ISSF World Cup

Yashaswini Singh Deswal won gold in the women’s 10-meter Air Pistol event at the ISSF World Cup at in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil securing an Olympic quota for India. World no.1 Olena Kostevych of Ukraine claimed the silver.

19-yr old Canadian Bianca Andreescu upset Serena Williams 6-3, 7-5 in the U.S. Open final for her first Grand Slam title.This is 2nd year in a row that Williams has lost in the U.S. Open final. Andreescu is 1st woman to win the U.S. Open in US Open debut.

Charles Leclerc just held off Lewis Hamilton to win the Belgian Grand Prix from pole position ,securing the 1st victory of his Formula One career. Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas was third, finishing ahead of Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel.

Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen stunned second seed Victor Svendsen of Denmark in straight games to clinch men’s singles title at the Belgian International Challenge 2019 held in Brussels.

15. Pankaj Advani clinches record 22nd world title

Pankaj Advani has clinched a record 22nd world titles by winning a fourth straight final in the 150-up format at the IBSF World Billiards Championship in Myanmar. He defeated Nay Thway of Myanmar. It is his fifth title in the last six years.

16. Sourabh Verma clinches Vietnam Open Men’s Singles title

In Badminton, Sourabh Verma clinched the Vietnam Open Super 100 title. He

defeated China’s Sun Fei Xiang in Men’s Singles at the Ho Chi Minh City. He had

won the Hyderabad Open and Slovenian International in 2019.

17. India Thrash Nepal 7-0 to Win U-15 SAFF Championship

India U-15 team thrashed Nepal 7-0 to lift the SAFF U-15 title at the Kalyani Stadium, West Bengal. Striker Sridarth Nongmeikapam scored a hat-trick while Maheson Singh, Amandeep, Sibajit Singh and Himanshu Jangra scored one goal apiece.

18. India Red clinch Duleep Trophy

India Red clinched the Duleep Trophy title. They defeated India Green by an innings and 38 runs in the final at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Abhimanyu Easwaran scored 153 to set up victory for India Red.
