1. India, Mongolia sign MoUs in areas including space, disaster management & culture

India and Mongolia have exchanged documents in areas including space, disaster management and culture. The exchanges also include Cultural Exchange Protocol and a Comprehensive Work Plan between Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.

2. India extends $1 billion line of credit to Russia

For the development of Russian Far East, India has decided to give line of credit worth $1 bn under the govt’s Act East policy in the 20th Indo-Russia annual summit. India is a very attractive source of manpower exports to the Far East

3. MCX, Zhengzhou Exchange sign MoU for exchange of information

Multi Commodity Exchange of India & Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange of China have signed MoU for co-operation and the exchange of information. MCX offers commodity futures contracts in bullion, base metal, energy & agricultural commodities.

4. India, Russia sign deal to overhaul, modernise Delhi-class warships

Defence Ministry signed contract with JSC Rosoboronexport, Russian Federation

for modernisation of “Air Defence Complex Kashmir and Radar Fregat MAE” on P- 15 (Delhi class) of ships.

5. Indo-Thailand Joint Military Exercise Maitree – 2019

Joint Military Exercise MAITREE-2019 between India & Thailand took place at Foreign Training Node, Umroi (Meghalaya) from 16-29 Sep 2019. Its scope covers company level joint training on counter terrorism operations in jungle and urban scenario. The First Exercise MAITREE took place in 2006.

6. India, Singapore, Thailand naval exercise – SITMEX 2019

The trilateral naval exercise ‘SITMEX’ b/w India, Singapore & Thailand commenced at Port Blair. It is aimed at bolstering the maritime inter-relationships between the countries & contributing to enhancing the overall maritime security in the region.

7. Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2019 took place in USA

As part of the ongoing Indo-US defence cooperation, 15th edition of the joint military training, Exercise Yudh Abhyas – 2019 took place at Joint Base Lewis Mc Chord, Washington, USA.

8. PIB publishes curtain raiser for KAZINAD-2019

Joint Military Exercise KAZINAD-2019 between India and Kazakhstan will be conducted at Pithoragarh from 02 to 15 October 2019. The exercise will comprise of nearly 100 soldiers from both Indian and Kazakhstan Army according to the PIB press release.
